Best WhatsApp inbox for a 2–8 person shop
For a shop with two to eight people, “best” is a fit test: keep the number, skip a per-seat tax, connect without becoming a BSP customer, and know what is not live. InboxBay publishes AED 499 / 999 / 1,999. We do not invent anyone else’s price.
Not a BSP. Not live AI. Compare WATI and respond.io on their own pages.
A 2–8 person shop that already has a WhatsApp number
Two people sharing a phone is a workaround. Eight people sharing a PIN is an incident. Between those sizes, a small business usually wants one public number, a few logins, and a monthly price that does not jump when the fourth hire starts.
This is a buying guide, not a second copy of the WhatsApp shared inbox. The hub explains the product. Here the job is how to choose — including when InboxBay is the wrong choice. We will not write “#1” or paste invented G2 scores.
Four checks that matter at this size
Keep the number. Customers already saved it. A vendor that wants you to migrate onto their BSP line is a different purchase than a workspace that connects to WhatsApp Business.
No per-seat tax. A shop that grows from three to six people should see a workspace invoice, not a seat multiplier. InboxBay is Starter AED 499, Growth AED 999, Business AED 1,999 per workspace / month. Other vendors meter seats or monthly active contacts — confirm on their site.
Setup you can finish. Workspace login is immediate. Connecting WhatsApp Business is a separate step and depends on that account. We do not promise a number of minutes. Invite agents after the number is linked.
Know what is not a BSP. A Business Solution Provider provisions WhatsApp Business API / WABA and often sells campaigns next to the inbox. InboxBay is not that. If campaigns are the center of gravity, start at InboxBay vs WATI. If a contact meter and a broader suite are the job, start at InboxBay vs respond.io. Those pages do not invent competitor prices either.
Keep the number
Connect WhatsApp Business. Do not throw away the line on the glass.
Per workspace
AED 499 / 999 / 1,999. A new hire is not a new line item.
Not a BSP
InboxBay sits on top. Meta still runs the channel and the fees.
AI is coming soon
Saved replies are live. Suggested and autonomous replies are not. A person sends.
When InboxBay is a reasonable pick — and when it is not
Reasonable pick: several people must work one WhatsApp Business number; you want assignment, notes, labels, saved replies; you may add Instagram or email later; you want a hosted workspace instead of running Chatwoot yourself; you will accept that AI answering is coming soon.
Wrong pick: you need a WhatsApp BSP, broadcasts, and chatbots as the product. You need live AI-assisted replies today. You need WhatsApp Calling, TikTok, or voice as the suite. You need Chatwoot Enterprise audit logs. You want to self-host the MIT core and operate it — stay on Chatwoot. You need a CRM sync we do not ship as live.
InboxBay is a Chatwoot MIT core plus an InboxBay overlay. First screens can still look like Chatwoot. That is honest, not a teardown. The demo is demo.inboxbay.work. Checkout after the 7-day trial is on Ziina. Meta’s template and marketing fees are extra on every option in this guide, including ours.
Price the labor you already pay, not an industry average
A “best” list that invents hours saved is fiction. If you want a monthly labor figure, type your agent count, hours, and hourly AED into the WhatsApp team cost calculator. Every output is labeled as coming from the figures you entered. InboxBay list prices sit next to that math. They are not derived from it.
Country pages and industry spokes — UAE, clinics, real estate, car dealerships — are specific jobs. They are not clones of this guide. Problem pages for five-person coverage, collision, assignment, support process, and attribution are linked from the footer. Use those if you already know the job.
InboxBay connects to WhatsApp Business. It does not replace it and is not a BSP. We do not invent competitor prices, review counts, or live AI. List prices only: Starter AED 499, Growth AED 999, Business AED 1,999 per workspace / month.
Straight answers
What is the best WhatsApp shared inbox for a small business?
Best depends on the job. For a 2–8 person shop that wants to keep the WhatsApp Business number, avoid a per-seat tax, and not become a BSP customer, InboxBay is built for that fit. It is not best if you need broadcasts, live AI answering, or a WhatsApp BSP.
What should a small shop actually compare?
Keep the number. Who pays per seat. How you connect. Whether the vendor is a BSP. Whether AI is live or a roadmap. Confirm their price on their site — we only publish InboxBay list prices here.
Is InboxBay a WhatsApp BSP?
No. InboxBay connects to WhatsApp Business. It does not replace it and is not a Business Solution Provider. Meta still bills template and marketing fees. We do not mark them up.
How much is InboxBay for a small team?
Starter AED 499, Growth AED 999, Business AED 1,999 per workspace / month — not per agent. 7-day trial. Checkout on Ziina. A sixth hire does not add a seat line.
Is InboxBay cheaper than WATI or respond.io?
We will not say that. We do not invent competitor prices. Fit notes: InboxBay vs WATI and InboxBay vs respond.io. Compare the job, then confirm their number.
Do you have reviews, awards, or ratings?
Not on this page. Star ratings and review counts we do not have would be invented. Try the live demo instead.
Who pays Meta’s WhatsApp message fees?
Meta bills WhatsApp per delivered template or marketing message. Conversation-based pricing was deprecated as of 1 July 2025. InboxBay does not collect or mark up Meta’s fees. You keep the WhatsApp Business number.
